Ampersand Butterfly Card

Hello Friends! It's me, Tina, back for another guest post on my friend Frenchie's blog.  I can't believe it's already been two weeks since my last post! Time is sure going fast! But that's good - that means Spring will soon be here!  Lately I've been gravitating towards bright colours (anything other than neutrals!) and birds and butterflies have been making a regular appearance on my cards.  Today's card features the Ampersand Embossing Folder with a fluttering butterfly sending good thoughts!

To make this card I ran a piece of Etcetera Designer Series Paper through the new Textured Boutique Embossing Machine, using the Ampersand Folder.  Next, I rubbed the front of the Designer Series Paper with the Embossing Buddy and then gently tapped the Gold Metalic Ink Pad on top of the raised Ampersand.  Once it was inked up I sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder over the whole piece and embossed it with my Heat Tool.

To make the butterfly I used the "Papillon Potpourri" stamp set and stamped my butterfly four times on a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe card stock, using Early Espresso Ink.  With the Elegant Butterfly Punch I punched out two, cut the butterfly 'body' from the third and used the new Watercolor Wonder Designer Washi Tape to cover the fourth butterfly before I punched it out.  Glue dots and Stampin' Dimensionals worked perfectly to layer the butterflies on top of one another.  Dazzling Detals on the edges added a little sparkle and fun.  The antennas were bits of gold string I cut from the Gold Sequin Trim!
Have you tried the new Fancy Foil Designer Vellum yet? If you haven't then you've got to get some - you'll love it!  I used a scrap piece to stamp the "You Can Do It" from a Hostess Only Stamp Set called "Express Yourself" and I stamped it with Early Espresso Ink.  Make sure it's dry - it can take a few minutes.  Then I used a 1/2" Circle Punch to punch out some hearts from the Designer Vellum and added them to the card using Glue Dots.  A little more Washi Tape and some Gold Baker's Twine and my card was done!
