So many time I got the question how to seal handmade envelope and my answer would be Snail, Tombow Glue well the question was if I give a stash of cards with handmade envelope maybe the recipient do NOT have glue on hand well I never have a answer for that except to say give them some glue also…. but today I am so excited to share the best recipe to make the best handmade envelope glue that I learn from The Postman’s Knock. It is simple and work great.

Only 4 ingredient needed
3 Table spoon of white vinegar (heat in microwave for about 30 sec
1 pk. .25oz gelatin no flavor
1 tea spoon sugar
1 tea spoon vanilla extract or any flavor of your choice
That is it well I paint brush to apply.

You can keep it in the refrigerator for 2 to 3 week. After it sit for a while or it come out of the fridge it will be like jello so place in the microwave for about 5 to 10 second and it is ready to use again.

When applying on the edge of the envelop make sure you use a light layer and when ready to seal your envelop, just do like you do with any envelop “lick” or use a little water to get the glue moist and seal. Voila that simple and it work great.

To apply the glue I use a paint brush that is about 3/8″ wide and work great. Make sure to rinse your brush after you done so you can reuse the same brush in the future.

Thank you for your post. I have been using other methods for sealing my handmade envelopes which I do not like. Now I have a new way to seal them.
